CGTA Tour of Heartland Recycling (Invite Only) How long have you been dreaming of touring a recycling facility?  For us, it’s been YEARS.  We are thrilled to announce that we have made arrangements with LRS to tour the award-winning, LEED-certified Heartland Recycling Center in Forest View, Illinois! The 40,000-square-foot facility is called a Material Recovery Facility (MRF, pronounced “murph”), and it was the first in the U.S. to have a Machinex Samurai Sorting Robot, which sorts, separates, and allocates more than 20 tons of waste per hour.  The City of Chicago is …

CPR Training This training is now at capacity, but feel free to RSVP to join the waiting list. The League is offering a free CPR training for League members. Attendees will be trained by certified professionals from Downers Grove CPR on how to administer CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), the Heimlich Maneuver, and how to operate an AED (automated external defibrillator) for adults, children, and infants.
