Shattered Globe Theatre‘s Ravenswood rehearsal studio has rental availability throughout the year. Discounts are available for non-profits and long-term agreements. For photos and more information, please email ifrank@shatteredglobe.org to inquire about rates and booking.


Be Realty Management has a 3,976 SF second-floor creative loft available for rent at 5533 N Broadway, Chicago (Uptown/Edgewater corridor), steps from the CTA Red Line. Formerly home to TimeLine Theatre Company, the open-plan space features strong natural light and is well-suited for rehearsals, studio use, performances, classes, company home, or multi-tenant theater rental. Black Box Acting has two studio rooms available for rent for rehearsals or events at 2625 W. North Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60647. The largest room is 700 square feet, has a sound system and track lights on dimmers in addition to overhead lights, and can seat up to 54 on built-in risers. Rates for this room start at $25/hour for League members. Our midsize room is 420 square feet, has track lights as well as overhead lights, and can seat up to 28 on built-in risers. Rates for this room start at $20/hour for League members. All spaces include Wifi; table(s) and chairs; printing/scanning; coffee/tea/water; central air and heating; The space has four single user restrooms, including one ADA compliant and accessible bathroom. Theatre Y has two different spaces available for rent: our 53 house Cabaret space and the larger Black Box Theatre, which holds up to 99 people. The cabaret is perfect for smaller gatherings, intimate performances and acoustic performances. The Black Box is adaptable, yet has the kind of character to use as a performance space on its own. It is ideal for full performances, parties, and concerts that require performers to stretch their legs a bit. Each space is open for hourly, weekly, and even monthly rentals, depending on availability. Note, Theatre Y does not have a PPO license, so renters may not charge for tickets. Remy Bumppo Theatre Company’s Rehearsal Room is available for rent year round. Located on the corner of Ravenswood and Grace St at 3759 N Ravenswood Ave, the space is perfect for rehearsals, meetings, classes, auditions, staged readings, and coachings! At over 1300 sq feet of space, the space comes with a 65” TV with webcam and HDMI cable, folding Tables (6) and Chairs (50), and upright piano, a mini-fridge, and more. GreatWorks Studio is available for one-time and for full production run rehearsal rentals. Located on the second floor of 1803 W Byron St, Chicago, the studio has 1600 sq feet of useable space: a 600 sq foot raised stage and 1000 sq feet workspace. The space is air conditioned, and a rehearsal piano is available in the space by request. Not wheelchair accessible, due to stairs, but located one block south of the Brown Line Irving Park Rd stop, and street parking is usually available. Rates range from $18 to $23 per hour. Bramble Arts Loft offers rentals for performances, events, and conferences. They also provide special rates for registered Non-Profits and Community members. Their four unique spaces include: The Conference Room, The Beatrice Thrust Stage, The Berry Black Box, and The Cabaret. The space is ADA accessible with full HVAC and Tech complement. Theatre Momentum is offering rentals for rehearsals, workshops, photoshoots, and performances at Studio Momentum.  The space is located on the first floor at 1541 W Belmont Ave. No live music rehearsals and all performances must maintain an appropriate volume (space is located on the ground floor of a condo building). The building is ADA accessible and has heat and AC. Chairs, tables, wifi, bathroom, and paid parking nearby. Rental rate is $12/hr and $70/night for shows (Fridays and Saturdays). North Shore Center for The Performing Arts in Skokie is offering rentals for The George Van Dusen Theatre with up to 867 permanent seats and 32 seats in the first two rows that are removable to allow for the use of the orchestra pit or stage extension. The North Theatre is also available for rentals and offers a more intimate performance experience, making it an excellent choice for plays, recitals, readings, meetings, and presentations that benefit from close audience engagement. This three-quarter thrust theatre seats 318 patrons, with no seat more than 30 feet from the stage. The seating is tiered to provide excellent sightlines, creating a strong connection between performers and audiences. The thrust-style stage and flexible layout allow for creative staging, while wheelchair-accessible seating and stage access ensure an inclusive experience for all participants.

The Ruth Page Subsidized Theater and Studio Rental Program allows performing artists and companies to prepare and present their work at reduced costs. Ruth Page Center subsidizes the operating costs, helping organizations meet their artistic and financial goals while reducing the financial burden of a Chicago engagement.

Non-profit organizations qualify for a 30% discount on rentals. Based on need, organizations may submit a Long-Term Subsidized Rental Application. Porchlight Music Theatre‘s three second-floor rehearsal studios of various sizes, each with loads of natural light and amenities, are available for rent at 4200 W Diversey. All renters are required to provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) with Porchlight Music Theatre listed as the additional insured. Midsommer Flight‘s Rehearsal Room is available to rent every month except June, subject to availability. The space is on the first floor of the Edgewater Presbyterian Church at 1020 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. The room is approximately 520 square feet and includes a piano for music rehearsals. The building is ADA accessible and has heat and AC. Rivendell Theatre has availability for primetime rental and off-night slots in the 2026-27 Season. Our intimate fifty-seat theater comes equipped with a full lighting and sound package, is fully accessible and close to public transit. Located at 5779 North Ridge Avenue in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, we are an easy walking distance to the many restaurants etc. in both Edgewater and Andersonville.

The Raven Theatre houses two proscenium stages – the 85 to 130-seat Johnson Stage and the 56-seat Schwartz Stage – as well as a lobby and parking lot! Raven’s spaces are ideal for performances of all kinds, as well as special events, concerts, meetings, readings, workshops, and auditions. Open Space Arts is an intimate storefront arts space located just east of Clark and Wilson in Uptown. The space is available for small rehearsals, auditions, classes, meetings, workshops, readings, screenings, one-time events, and intimate performances. The space seats up to 29 people for performances. For rehearsals, classes, workshops, and meetings, it generally works best for groups of about 10 people or fewer, depending on the setup. Performance rentals include access to the lighting and sound boards, but technical personnel are not included. Renters should provide their own operator when lighting or sound cues are required. Performances must end by 10 p.m., and the space must be completely vacated by 10:30 p.m. Open Space Arts is strictly non-smoking. The space is located three steps below street level and is not ADA accessible. There is no separate lobby, backstage area, changing room, or waiting room. Guests enter directly into the performance or rehearsal space, so renters should plan accordingly when scheduling auditions or callbacks.

Open Space Arts is accessible by the Clark Street bus and is approximately a 10-block walk from the Wilson Red Line station. Free and metered street parking is available nearby. The Athenaeum Center in Lakeview has multiple performance, reception, and rehearsal spaces available. Popular venues include our 985-seat Historic Main Stage proscenium theatre, Black Box Studios seating up to 87 people, and a brand new event space welcoming up to 300 patrons. Our services include a fully staffed venue for all performances: ticketing, box office, tech staff, ushers, concessions, and more, depending on your needs. Theater Wit has three black box theatres seating up to 98 patrons each. Theatre One and Two are proscenium spaces, Theatre Three is a flexible performance space. Rentals include phone and online box office, lobby access and in building display. The Greehouse Theater Center is located at 2257 N Lincoln Ave in Lincoln Park. It has 5 performance stages for rent plus a rehearsal room, and includes the a full bar. The performance spaces have 195, 131-196, 58, 58, and 43 seats respectively and include 1-2 dressing rooms. All theaters include a full lighting and sound package. Greenhouse handles all box office responsibilities along with supplying front of house staff. We offer free eblast(s) to our 20,000+ patron list, depending on the length of run. The Annoyance Theatre has 6 studio classrooms to rent for rehearsals, meetings, and auditions. They may also be rented for commercial use (classes/workshops) at their commercial rates. The Fine Arts Building has rehearsal and event space available! Available for rehearsals, workshops, audition hosting, classes, or small events, the Fine Arts Building’s Annex Studios are three unique and historic facilities that can accommodate the short term needs of your company or production. Madison Street Theater in Oak Park has rental space available. A 9000 square foot nonprofit performing arts facility houses a mainstage 192-seat theater with dressing room and lobby space,  a 40 seat Black Box theater with its own lobby space, 2 rehearsal rooms and a dance studio. Available for performances, rehearsals, auditions, workshops, classes or events. Hourly/Daily/Weekly rates are available. Ticketing, theater technicians, and bar/concessions are available. The Factory Theater, conveniently located right off the Howard red line, is an ADA accessible 70 seat black box in a 3/4 thrust configuration with a lighting and sound system. The space also features a bright lobby, box office space, a dressing room, and backstage bathrooms.
