We all know 2020 has irrevocably changed the theatre industry in Chicago. When speaking with theatres this year, we heard that one of the biggest fears coming was the cash flow crisis around the start of a production. We hope to alleviate some of the stress of ticket pre-sales, hiring and paying artists and technicians, and acquiring the materials needed to bring a production to life. Webinars: Trauma Informed Arts Education for a Trauma Informed Illinois

Chicago Children’s Theatre and Lurie Children’s Center for Childhood Resilience are hosting a series of live webinars called Trauma Informed Arts Education for a Trauma Informed Illinois. TYA artists, early childhood educators and youth mental health experts will discuss, share and learn how to identify children impacted by trauma, and how to use theater and other art forms to address their emotional and learning needs while fostering resilience. The next application deadline for the MacArthur Funds for Culture, Equity, and the Arts at the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation is January 19, 2021, 6 pm CDT. Groups with actual expenses of under $150,000 in the most recently completed fiscal year may apply. (The deadline for groups with expenses between $150,000 and $500,000 is May 3, 2021.) Goodman Theatre Now Accepting Submissions for New BIPOC *Future Labs* Play Series

Calling all bold, imaginative new plays authored by artists of color for Future Labs—Goodman Theatre’s newest artistic program to develop works authored and directed by Black, Indigenous, Latinx, AAPI and other artists of color.
