The Saints Award Grants to Metro Chicago Performing Arts Companies

The Saints, Volunteers for the Performing Arts, announce the awarding of more than $78,000 in grants to 22 performing arts groups in the Chicago metropolitan area for 2019. The grants will be awarded to dance, music and theater organizations for 2019-20 projects. Over the last twenty-five years, the Saints have given more than $1,000,000 to over 250 companies and venues. The City of Chicago and the League of Chicago Theatres have designated 2019 as the Year of Chicago Theatre. This citywide, year-long focus on theatre is the first of its kind in the U.S. The initiative includes performances and special events for the public at hundreds of cultural venues, theaters, parks and neighborhood locations throughout the city. The League of Chicago Theatres is now accepting applications for the 2019 Broadway In Chicago Emerging Theater Award. The recipient of the award receives $5,000, a consultation and marketing support package with advertising support. The award was created in 2007 to encourage, support and promote young theatres in Chicago that have demonstrated great ability and promise, artistic excellence and fiscal responsibility in business practices. The 2019 CityArts Program grant applications are now open for arts organizations of all sizes! The goal of DCASE’s CityArts Program is to encourage the attainment of artistic excellence and financial stability, and to incentivize innovation related to citywide priorities.
In 2019, nonprofit arts and culture organizations of all sizes will be able to apply for general operating grants and project grants. Project grants will be in alignment with the Year of Chicago Theatre.
