Theater on the Lake: PROLOGUE

In celebration of the 2019 Year of Chicago Theatre, Night Out in the Parks and the Chicago Park District welcome you to
Theater on the Lake: PROLOGUE
3 days to celebrate and shape the future of performance

This free programming will take place June 26-28, 2019 at our lakefront home, located at 2401 N Lake Shore Drive, and will provide opportunities to converse and connect around the issues central to cultural work and performance in civic spaces. We’re partnering with Arts Alliance Illinois, DCASE, and Chicago Cultural Accessibility Consortium to focus our conversations around equity, diversity and inclusion, radical access and increasing opportunities to tour work within and beyond Chicago. Afternoons during the festival will provide program options both on site and off, with workshops and classes curated by The Chicago Inclusion Project and Not in Our House, as well as site visits to 3 parks that offer unique approaches to performance: Berger Park in Edgewater, Palmisano Park in Bridgeport, and Hamilton Park in Englewood. Lastly our evening programs highlight the best of Theater on the Lake including a Barn Dance in partnership with DCASE’s SummerDance, a 2019 Theater Festival Season Preview and finally a Theater on the Lake Reunion Party to bring us to a close on Friday. The full schedule and event registration can be found at https://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/form/theater-on-the-lake-prologue (Program Summary included below.)
