How to Talk to an Alderman

How to talk to an alderman with alderman Andre Vasquez at Little Bad Wolf Bar in Andersonville. The event will take place on January 25th, 2022 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. This event is part of the 2021-2022 Winter Event Season of member events and programs and will be held in-person. Full event details open in new window.

Join fellow League Members for a casual conversation with Alderman Andre Vasquez from the 40th Ward. Andre will talk with us about how to create meaningful partnerships with your Alderman and City Council. We will discuss the Alderman’s exciting path to election, his participation in the Chicago Progressive Caucus, his unique approach to participatory zoning and budgeting, and his dream of creating a new arts corridor in the 40th Ward. Now in his third year on City Council, Alderman Vasquez will share with us his ideas on how arts organizations in Chicago can advocate for space, funding, and support at the various levels of city government and we can share with him our insights into how he can expand access to the arts for his constituents.

The League will provide a round of refreshments, chips, salsa, & guacamole for attendees. After the discussion, we are welcome to stick around at our tables and order food and drink from the kitchen.
