Summer 2022 Member Events and Programs, Non-Profit Tax Seminar with Patrick Burke from Friedman and Huey Associates LLP on June, 27th, 2022 from 3pm to 4:15pm CST on Zoom.

Patrick Burke is a partner with Friedman & Huey with over 30 years of experience in the field.  Pat specializes in individual taxation while also administering his firm’s tax-exempt organization practice, financial statement practice, peer review program, and firm-wide quality control efforts. Pat is a member of the AICPA, IL CPA Society, and he has been a guest lecturer at universities and numerous non-profits.

Patrick will cover many helpful topics for non-profit administrators in his presentation, including:

  • 990’s: Tips for filing and pitfalls to avoid
  • How to keep your financial information organized for filing your taxes, applying for grants, and in preparation for potential audits
  • Helpful information about payroll taxes, sales and use tax, property/sales and income tax exemptions, and theatres interested in exploring a “free” model
  • Information about pro-bono or low-cost resources for non-profits looking for help with their accounting or tax preparation

There will also be significant time set aside for participants to ask Patrick their specific questions.
