On January 13, 2024, the museum will host  “Been To The Mountaintop:  Dr. King and the Present and Future of Our World,  a free community discussion with civil rights activist, poet and filmmaker Kevin Powell. MLK DAY 2024: Yesterdays, Todays, and Tomorrows, explores the ways that history, leadership, and creativity influence our present day, futures, and beyond. From folklore, to music, and conversations rooted in afro-futurism, we honor the many ways in which Dr. King’s legacy has influenced culture through time.

Join us for the 6th Annual King Day of Service. Principals, community organizations, and muralists in Bronzeville and Englewood are working together to host 500 volunteers at 10 service sites this year. Be a part of service projects, making new friends, and building community with joy, determination, and love.
