The Auditorium Theatre, the Theatre for the People, has a past that follows the path of Chicago’s history from the Great Chicago Fire and World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893 to the present. From opera to rock ‘n roll, from political conventions to sporting events, the Auditorium Theatre has played a role in the lives of Chicago citizens for 129 years. A National Historic Landmark, the Auditorium Theatre is known internationally for its perfect acoustics, innovative architecture and stunning design. “We live this history. Join us.”

The Auditorium Theatre has been fortunate to host an infinite number of celebrities, politicians, dancers and musicians. While it is hard to name the most famous, we are proud to say individuals such as Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and William McKinley, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Frank Sinatra and Pavarotti have graced the Auditorium stage.
